·   Veolia ($29b) is introducing a Group wise financial and controlling model and my role was leading the first implementation of the reporting part, primarily focusing on North America and the 5 business areas.

·   First task was to understand previous reporting enviroment that was based on 3 PeopleSoft environments and map it (including GAPs) to SAP standards. We structured 256 previous reports into group structures (global) covering sets of keyfigures: actual vs budget, prior vs current, 13 months trending, actual vs forecast.

·   Second task was to define frameworks for Balance Sheet, P&L, Cashflow and Trial Balance. We defined strucutres (global) based on hierarchies available in ECC.

·   All reporting objects were defined and understood by business. Focus were on frameworks (see above), understanding of profit centers and costcenters, how WBS works, connection between cost elements and functional areas especially in regard to P&L Framework, usage of primary ledger vs local ledgers.

·   Creating core BEx queries for 4 different reporting areas on selected multiproviders, including global structures for key figures (see above) and reporing objects (see above).

·   Creating workbook focused BEx queries based on core BEx queries.

·   The CIO and ECC/BW lead asked me to come back to facilitate the integration of two different BI landscapes. The task was a combination of achieving a cultural / political environment where competencies in both part of the organization could work as one unit but also contained some hard deliverables (technical) that would result in reduced software costs and lowered maintainence resulting in reduced usage of consultancies.

·   A lot of the introduced technology required training and knowledge transfer to both IT organizations. The integration spanned across software, hardward, network etc.

·   Migration of acquired company Remmele into existing corporate enterprise BOBJ repository. Including EDGE 4.1 to Enterprise 4.1.

·   Implementation of clustered environment with separate processing tier.

·   Upgrade to SAP BI 4.1 SP2.

·   WebI reports available on iPad via SAP BI Mobile for senior management. Configuration and development of reports.

·   BI Lead needed a resource that could bring admins and support team up to speed with the new Business Objects technology. CITGO had acquired the software but it wasn’t implemente and business had started requesting using the tools in the Business Objects suite. The client was very focused on being independent of consultants afterwards so I worked hands-on with admins, developers etc during the entire project.

·   Stabilization of SAP BI  4.0 SP5 (BOBJ)

·   Upgrade to SAP BI 4.1 SP1 + update (migration) of infoobjects.

·   Integration to SAP BW 7.3  based on ECC IS-U.

·   Sizing of SAP BI 4.1 including split of Adaptive Processing Server + hardware sizing. Adaptive Processing Server split into 4 APDs: Analysis, Auditing, Core, Data.
